Deltoideuksessa refers to the deltoid muscle, commonly known as the shoulder muscle. It is a large, triangular muscle located at the shoulder joint, forming the rounded contour of the shoulder. The anterior fibers of the deltoid originate from the clavicle and assist in flexing and internally rotating the arm. The posterior fibers, arising from the spine of the scapula, help in extending and externally rotating the arm. Together, these heads enable the shoulder to perform a wide range of motion, including raising the arm forward, sideways, and backward.

The deltoid muscle plays a crucial role in many daily activities, from reaching for objects to throwing a ball. It is also a significant muscle for athletic performance, particularly in sports like swimming, weightlifting, and throwing events.
