Dekondenserer is a term used in Norwegian to describe the action or process of removing condensation or preventing its formation on surfaces or in air. The word derives from de- meaning removal and from kondenser (condenser).

In practice, dekondensering encompasses methods and devices aimed at reducing moisture in the air or keeping surfaces above the temperature at which condensation forms. The core approaches are lowering the relative humidity, warming the surface, or both. Common methods include dehumidification using refrigerant-based equipment or moisture-absorbing materials, ventilation to exchange moist air for drier air, and space heating or surface insulation to reduce surface cooling.

Typical applications include preventing condensation on building windows and walls, defogging vehicle windshields, protecting electronic equipment and other sensitive goods in cabinets or rooms, and controlling moisture in industrial processes such as drying or storage. Dekondensering is often integrated into broader climate-control or HVAC systems.

Advantages include reduced mold risk, improved visibility, and better material longevity. Limitations involve energy consumption, cost, and effectiveness in very humid or rapidly changing conditions. In design, a combination of humidity control, temperature management, and ventilation is commonly used to achieve robust condensation control.
