Deklarasyon is a term used in Indonesian, Malay, and related languages to denote a formal or official statement of facts, intentions, opinions, or policy. It can refer to declarations issued by individuals, organizations, or governments. The word is derived from the English declaration and the Dutch verklaring, and is commonly spelled deklarasyon in some contexts, or deklarasi/deklarasi in standard Indonesian and Malay.

In law and international affairs, a declaration is a formal assertion that may carry moral, legal, or political weight. Examples include the Declaration of Independence (1776) in the United States and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948) adopted by the United Nations. Declarations may announce sovereignty, articulate human rights, declare war, or set policy goals.

In everyday use, declarations appear in business, administration, and journalism—for instance declarations of assets or statements released to the public. In computing and programming, a declaration is a statement that introduces an identifier, such as a variable or function, specifying its name and type without allocating storage.
