Deeuroization refers to the process or phenomenon where a country or region that has adopted the euro as its official currency subsequently decides to revert to its own national currency. This is a theoretical concept rather than a widespread practice, as leaving the euro is a complex and legally intricate undertaking.

The primary motivation for considering deeuroization would typically be a perceived economic disadvantage resulting from euro membership. This could include a lack of monetary policy independence, making it difficult to respond to national economic shocks with tailored interest rate adjustments or currency devaluation.
