Debridálása is a Hungarian term referring to the process of removing dead, damaged, or infected tissue from a wound. This procedure is crucial for wound healing, as the presence of non-viable tissue can impede the body's natural repair mechanisms, promote infection, and delay the formation of new healthy tissue.

The process of debridement can be performed using various methods. These include surgical debridement, which involves the sharp removal of tissue using scalpels or scissors; mechanical debridement, which uses physical forces like irrigation, wet-to-dry dressings, or ultrasonic devices; enzymatic debridement, employing topical enzymes to break down dead tissue; autolytic debridement, a slower process that uses the body's own enzymes under occlusive dressings; and biological debridement, often involving the use of sterile maggots to consume necrotic tissue.

The choice of debridement method depends on factors such as the type of wound, the amount of dead tissue present, the patient's overall health, and the desired speed of healing. Pain management is an important consideration during debridement, and appropriate analgesia is typically administered. Following debridement, the wound is usually cleaned and dressed to protect it and facilitate the healing process. Regular assessment and further debridement may be necessary until the wound bed is clean and ready for granulation.
