dVdlogr

dvdlogr is an open-source software project that catalogs and analyzes information related to DVD discs, disc images, and playback events. Designed for digital preservation, media management, and forensic analysis, the tool generates structured logs from disc metadata, drive activity, and user actions, enabling archival, auditing, and research tasks.

Core features include extraction of metadata from physical discs and ISO images (title, region code, duration, aspect ratio, audio and subtitle streams), detection of layer changes, and recording of drive events. Logs can be emitted in JSON, CSV, or stored in a lightweight database. The project emphasizes cross-platform support for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

dvdlogr uses a modular architecture with a plugin system to incorporate additional metadata sources and formats. It offers a command-line interface and an optional graphical interface, with real-time monitoring and batch processing. Data integrity is promoted through timestamped records and configurable retention policies.
