Saint Cyprian of Carthage was a prominent Christian bishop and theologian who lived during the 3rd century AD. Born around 200 in North Africa, he was originally a pagan rhetorician who converted to Christianity around 246 AD. Following his conversion, he quickly rose through the church hierarchy and became Bishop of Carthage in 249 AD.
