Cueassociated refers to a phenomenon in psychology and neuroscience where a specific stimulus, known as a cue, becomes linked with a particular response, behavior, or internal state. This association is formed through processes of learning, such as classical conditioning or operant conditioning. When the cue is encountered, it triggers a conditioned response or influences the likelihood of a particular behavior.

For example, in classical conditioning, a neutral stimulus (like a bell) might be repeatedly paired with an unconditioned stimulus (like food) that naturally elicits a response (like salivation). After repeated pairings, the neutral stimulus becomes a conditioned stimulus, capable of eliciting the salivation response on its own. The bell is then cueassociated with salivation.
