Crvenkapica is the Serbian name for the folk tale commonly known in English as Little Red Riding Hood. The story centers on a young girl, identified by the red cape or hood she wears, who is sent by her mother to deliver food to her ailing grandmother. Along the way, she encounters a wolf who inquires about her destination and then devises a plan to reach the grandmother's house first.

The wolf arrives at the grandmother's home, tricks her into opening the door, and then devours her. He then disguises himself as the grandmother and awaits the girl's arrival. When Crvenkapica arrives, she notices peculiar features about her "grandmother," leading to the famous dialogue about the wolf's large eyes, ears, and teeth. The story typically culminates with the wolf revealing himself and attempting to eat Crvenkapica.

Different versions of the tale exist, with endings varying. In some iterations, Crvenkapica and her grandmother are rescued by a passing hunter or woodcutter who slays the wolf and frees them. In other, more cautionary versions, the wolf succeeds in his predatory intentions. The story is a well-known cautionary tale, often used to teach children about the dangers of strangers and disobedience.
