Crossdimension is a term used to describe phenomena, events, or technologies that enable interaction or traversal between different dimensions, realities, or planes of existence. While not a single formal scientific theory, the concept is used in speculative science and fiction to discuss how boundaries between dimensions might be crossed, or how information and influence could propagate across dimensional interfaces. It often implies movement or influence that is not confined to the familiar three spatial dimensions and one time dimension.

In scientific contexts, discussions of crossdimension typically appear in theories that posit extra dimensions beyond everyday experience. In brane cosmology, for example, our visible universe may be a four-dimensional brane embedded in a higher-dimensional space, with gravity or other effects potentially crossing between branes. In condensed matter physics and statistical mechanics, cross-dimensional crossover describes systems whose effective dimensionality changes with scale, temperature, or energy, affecting their physical behavior.

In fiction, crossdimension is a common plot device for portals, rifts, or gates that connect alternate worlds, parallel universes, or different time periods. Stories often use crossdimension travel to explore alternate histories, diverse physical laws, or encounters with alternate versions of familiar characters. The concept serves to examine questions of identity, causality, and the limits of reality.
