Corneaformázás, also known as corneal reshaping or orthokeratology (ortho-k), is a non-surgical vision correction method that involves wearing specially designed rigid gas permeable contact lenses overnight. These lenses temporarily reshape the cornea, the clear front surface of the eye, to correct refractive errors such as myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness), and astigmatism.

The process begins with a comprehensive eye examination by an optometrist or ophthalmologist. Based on the patient's prescription and corneal topography, custom lenses are designed. When worn during sleep, the lenses gently flatten the central cornea in myopic patients, or steepen it in hyperopic patients, thereby altering the way light focuses on the retina. Upon waking, the patient removes the lenses and can see clearly throughout the day without the need for glasses or conventional contact lenses.

The effects of corneaformázás are temporary, typically lasting for one day. For continued clear vision, the lenses must be worn nightly or as prescribed by the eye care professional. This method is particularly popular among individuals who are active or dislike wearing corrective lenses during the day.
