Comodos is a town and municipality in the eastern lowlands of Veridia, a fictional nation, situated along the Cinara River and bordered by the Arenal Hills. The municipality covers about 54 square kilometers and had an estimated population of 8,600 in 2020.

Etymology: The name is believed to derive from a local term meaning comfortable in an early dialect, or from a landmark once known as Comodo Rock; historical records are inconclusive.

Geography and climate: The landscape is primarily flat with gentle slopes; the climate is temperate with warm summers and mild, rainier winters.

History: Founded around 1740 by settlers from the coastal provinces, Comodos gained municipal status in 1832. Growth accelerated after the arrival of the Veridian Railway in 1905.

Economy and infrastructure: The economy combines agriculture—olives, grapes, citrus—with light manufacturing and services. The town is connected by a regional highway and hosts a small regional airport. A riverfront promenade is popular for markets.

Governance and demographics: The municipality is governed by a mayor and a nine-member council. The population is predominantly Veridian-speaking, with a small Sillan-speaking minority.
