Citronaromer is an informal term in aroma chemistry and perfumery that describes the class of citrus-like aroma notes associated with certain volatile organic compounds derived from citrus fruits. It is not a single chemical but a concept used to capture the fresh, lemony character found in many fragrance ingredients. In practice, citronaromer describes a perceptual category rather than a defined molecular family.

The citrus note is typically produced by a combination of monoterpenes and oxygenated derivatives such as limonene, gamma-terpinene, and citral (geranial and neral), often in concert with linalool and other terpenoids. The exact perception depends on concentration, matrix, and individual olfactory sensitivity.
