Cinieniowy is a neologism used chiefly in Polish media theory and art criticism to denote qualities or strategies associated with cinema. The term functions as an adjective and is formed with the Polish suffix -ieniowy from a hypothetical stem cin- derived from cinema, film, or cinematography. It is not widely attested in standard dictionaries.

In practice, cinieniowy describes approaches that imitate, parody, or recontextualize cinematic grammar beyond traditional film. It can refer to techniques such as rapid montage, controlled pacing, sequential framing, and the orchestration of time and space that evoke the cinema experience in other media: photography series, video installations, digital art, or stage works. The concept is often invoked in discussions of transmedia art, video installation studies, and contemporary experimental cinema.

The term remains relatively rare and somewhat contested. Some scholars prefer more established Polish terms such as kinowy or filmowy to describe cinematic qualities, while cinieniowy is used to emphasize the cross-media or meta-cinematic dimension.
