chromatická

Chromatická is the feminine singular form of the Czech adjective chromatický, meaning relating to color or chromatic phenomena. It is used across fields to describe color-related or tonal characteristics and appears predominantly in technical or scientific terminology.

In music, chromatická refers to elements involving chromaticism, such as chromatická stupnice (chromatic scale) and chromatická modulace. These terms describe approaches that use semitone steps outside the diatonic framework, expanding harmonic language beyond strict tonal theory.

In optics and color science, chromatická is used with terms about color and wavelength. The most common example is chromatická aberace (chromatic aberration), a lens imperfection caused by different wavelengths of light being refracted by different amounts, producing color fringes in images.
