Ceramicdisk, often written as ceramic disk, is a term used to describe a disk-shaped component or element made from ceramic materials. The category covers a range of devices and parts whose function depends on the properties of ceramic compounds, including electrical, thermal, and mechanical performance. Common forms include electrical capacitors, piezoelectric disks, temperature sensors, and structural or wear-resistant discs.

In electronics, ceramic disk capacitors are among the most widespread examples. They use dielectric ceramic oxides, such as BaTiO3-based compositions, and are valued for compact size, high insulation resistance, and stability across frequencies and temperatures. Piezoelectric ceramic disks, built from materials like lead zirconate titanate (PZT), convert electrical energy into mechanical motion and vice versa, finding use in actuators, buzzers, ultrasonic transducers, and sensors. Thermistor disks, which may be NTC or PTC, utilize ceramic materials to provide temperature-dependent resistance for sensing or protection circuits.

In mechanical and industrial contexts, ceramic disks are produced from advanced ceramics such as alumina, silicon carbide, or zirconia. These disks serve as wear- and heat-resistant surfaces, or form parts within seals, bearings, or friction assemblies in specialized equipment. Their high hardness and thermal stability are balanced by brittleness, making careful handling and proper mounting important to prevent fracture.

Manufacturing typically involves pressing a ceramic powder into a disk mold, followed by sintering at high temperature and post-processing to achieve precise dimensions and, when required, metallization for electrical connections. Ceramicdisk components are valued for stability and longevity but require appropriate design to manage brittleness.
