caudalt
Caudalt is a term used in biology and anatomy to describe a position or direction towards the tail end of an organism. It is the opposite of cranial, which refers to the direction towards the head. In vertebrates, the caudal direction points towards the posterior of the body, generally encompassing the region from the hind limbs to the tip of the tail. This directional term is crucial for precise anatomical descriptions, allowing scientists to locate structures and explain developmental processes. For instance, a tumor in the caudal part of the spinal cord would be located in the lower section of the spine.
The concept of caudal is also applied in embryology to describe the developing tail bud of an
