Buksbom, known in English as boxwood, refers to the genus Buxus, a group of evergreen shrubs and small trees in the family Buxaceae. There are about 70 species, with Buxus sempervirens (common box) the most widely used ornamental species. Boxwoods are valued for their dense, hard foliage and their ability to be shaped by pruning.
