Biopalivové refers to biofuels, which are fuels derived from biomass. Biomass is organic material from plants and animals, such as agricultural crops, forestry residues, and animal waste. Biopalivové can be used in place of or in addition to conventional fossil fuels, particularly in transportation.

The primary types of biopalivové include bioethanol and biodiesel. Bioethanol is an alcohol produced from fermenting sugars and starches found in crops like corn, sugarcane, and wheat. It is commonly blended with gasoline. Biodiesel is produced from vegetable oils, animal fats, or recycled greases through a process called transesterification. The use of biopalivové is often promoted as a way to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and decrease reliance on fossil fuels. When plants used for biomass grow, they absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. This can offset some of the emissions produced when the biofuel is burned.
