Beta-aminoketonartige, commonly referred to as beta-aminoketones, are organic compounds that feature both a ketone functional group and an amino group positioned at the beta carbon relative to the carbonyl. In simple terms, the structure typically includes a ketone with an amino substituent two carbons away from the carbonyl, for example in substituted variants β-positions may carry additional groups. The motif can exist with primary, secondary, or substituted amines.

The presence of both a reactive carbonyl and an amine makes beta-aminoketones versatile intermediates in organic synthesis. The carbonyl remains electrophilic, while the adjacent methylene has enolizable hydrogens, enabling further transformations.
