ararás
Ararás are a group of large, vibrantly colored parrots belonging to the genus Ara. They are native to Central and South America, inhabiting tropical and subtropical rainforests, savannas, and woodlands. These intelligent birds are known for their striking plumage, which often features a combination of blue, yellow, green, and red. Ararás are social animals, typically living in pairs or family groups, and are often seen flying in noisy flocks. Their diet consists mainly of fruits, nuts, seeds, and flowers, and they play an important role in seed dispersal. They possess powerful beaks capable of cracking hard shells. Communication among ararás involves a variety of loud calls, squawks, and screeches. Due to their beauty and intelligence, ararás are popular in the pet trade, but their wild populations face threats from habitat loss and illegal trapping, leading some species to be endangered. Their nesting habits usually involve cavities in trees.
