Antiserumia is a rare autoimmune disorder characterized by the production of autoantibodies against serum proteins, leading to the destruction of red blood cells. The condition is also known as autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AIHA) type II. The autoantibodies produced in antiserumia target the Rh antigens on red blood cells, causing their premature destruction in the spleen and other organs. This results in a decrease in hemoglobin levels, leading to symptoms such as fatigue, pallor, and in severe cases, jaundice and dark urine.
