Analitik is a term used in several languages to describe approaches, methods, or disciplines that involve analysis. In Turkish and Indonesian, analitik is the standard adjective for anything related to analysis or analytic methods, for example analitik geometri (analytic geometry) and analitik düşünce (analytical thinking). In other languages the cognate forms include analytic (English), analytique (French), analytisk (Swedish/N Norwegian), and analítico (Spanish). The word ultimately derives from Greek analytikos, through Latin analyticus.

In mathematics and logic, analytic denotes methods that rely on deduction, formalization, or decomposition into simpler parts. Analytic geometry studies geometric properties using algebra and coordinates; analytic functions are expressible by convergent power series and are central in complex analysis; analytic number theory investigates properties of integers using tools from analysis. In philosophy, analytic philosophy emphasizes logical analysis of language and concepts, often contrasted with continental approaches.

In data science and business, analytics refers to the systematic analysis of data to extract insights and support decision-making. This includes descriptive analytics (summarizing data), diagnostic analytics (exploring causes), predictive analytics (forecasting outcomes), and prescriptive analytics (recommending actions). Analytics are implemented with statistical methods, algorithms, and visualization, and are widely used in areas such as marketing, operations, finance, and web applications (for example, web analytics tracks user interactions).
