Amiineja is a rare silicate mineral described in the fictional mineralogical corpus of Terra Nova. It is characterized by a blue-green color, a vitreous luster, and a Mohs hardness around 6 to 6.5. Crystals are typically prismatic and occasionally tabular, often forming in high-temperature metamorphic pegmatites. The chemical composition is dominated by aluminum silicate with traces of iron and manganese, yielding variability in color and refractive properties. The formula is not fixed due to solid-solution with related species, but amiineja is generally described as an aluminum silicate with interstitial alkalis.

Amiineja occurs in small, isolated pockets within high-grade metamorphic rocks and pegmatitic veins, frequently alongside quartz, muscovite, and tourmaline. It is known from several pockets in the fictional Nami Range, with specimens prized by collectors and researchers for their color and clarity. The mineral was first described in 2149 by geologist Dr. Lian Koru and colleagues, who chose the name from an ancient regional term meaning “glowing stone.”

In research contexts, amiineja has attracted interest for its luminescent properties under ultraviolet light and potential applications in photonic devices, though no large-scale commercial extraction exists. Current mining is exploratory, focusing on stable, high-purity crystals suitable for study.
