alpnus
Alpnus is a genus of flowering plants in the family Apiaceae, commonly known as the carrot or parsley family. This genus is native to the Mediterranean region. Plants in the genus Alpnus are typically herbaceous perennials or biennials. They are characterized by their compound leaves, usually pinnately compound, and their inflorescences which are umbels, clusters of small flowers arranged on radiating stalks. The flowers are generally small and white or sometimes yellowish. The fruits are schizocarps, splitting into two single-seeded mericarps.
Species within Alpnus are often found in rocky or dry habitats, including mountainsides and open woodlands.
