Alkuilta is a Finnish term that translates to "early evening" or "early part of the evening." It typically refers to the period between sunset and when people generally settle down for the night, often encompassing the hours from around 5 PM to 8 PM or 9 PM, depending on the season and individual routines.

During alkuilta, activities can vary widely. It is often a time for unwinding after work or school, with many people engaging in domestic chores, preparing and eating dinner, or spending time with family. For some, it might also be a period for hobbies, exercise, or socializing before the later evening hours.
