algorõigu

Algorõigu is a term that appears in Estonian-language discussions related to computing and information processing. It is not part of standard Estonian vocabulary; the regular word for the concept is algoritm. When used, algorõigu is typically understood as a casually formed reference to an algorithmic rule or to a sequence of steps used to solve a problem.

Scholarly literature doesn't establish a fixed definition for algorõigu. Some writers treat it as a neologism created by combining algori-root with a suffix that marks abstract procedures, yielding a phrase equivalent to "an algorithmic instruction" or "the algorithmic recipe." In practice, it tends to indicate a practical procedure rather than a formal mathematical object.

In informal contexts, particularly online forums and hobbyist programming discussions, algorõigu may be used to describe a step-by-step method for a task, such as sorting a list or finding a path. Because it is not standard, it can be confusing to readers outside the immediate circle.
