algebrise

Algebrise is a term used in mathematics to denote the process or result of expressing a mathematical object or concept in purely algebraic terms. It is not a standard, widely adopted term in major mathematical literature, but it appears in some discussions as a shorthand for algebraization, the broader idea of translating analytic, geometric, or combinatorial data into an algebraic framework.

In usage, to algebrise something means to replace or refine its description by algebraic structures such as polynomial equations, rings, modules, or schemes, with the aim of leveraging algebraic methods to study its properties. For example, an analytic variety defined by analytic functions might be algebrized if there exists an algebraic model giving equivalent geometric information; similarly, a topological or differential structure can sometimes be encoded by a sheaf of algebras.
