alamiloidoosiin
Alamiloidoosiin, also known as AL amyloidosis, is a rare and serious condition characterized by the buildup of abnormal proteins called amyloid fibrils in various organs and tissues. This deposition disrupts the normal function of these organs, leading to a wide range of symptoms that can affect multiple body systems. The underlying cause of AL amyloidosis is a plasma cell disorder, typically a type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma or multiple myeloma, where the plasma cells produce an excess of misfolded light chains, a component of antibodies. These light chains then aggregate and deposit as amyloid.
The symptoms of AL amyloidosis are highly variable and depend on which organs are affected. Common sites
Diagnosis of AL amyloidosis involves a combination of clinical evaluation, laboratory tests, and tissue biopsies. Blood
