An alambic is a type of still used for distilling alcoholic spirits and essential oils. It consists of a boiler, a head, and a condenser. The boiler, often made of copper, heats the liquid to be distilled. The head, which fits on top of the boiler, collects the vapor. The condenser cools the vapor, turning it back into a liquid, which is then collected. The word "alambic" originates from the Arabic word "al-anbīq," meaning "the still" or "the pot."
