al-Dakhili, also known as Abu al-Hasan Ali ibn al-Dakhili, was a prominent figure in the history of the Fatimid dynasty, a Shia Islamic caliphate that ruled parts of North Africa and the Middle East from the 10th to the 12th centuries. Born in the late 10th century, he was a member of the Ismaili branch of Shia Islam, which was the official faith of the Fatimids. His exact origins are somewhat obscure, but he is believed to have been of Berber descent, possibly from the Maghreb region.
