Abu Abdur-Rahman Ahmad ibn Husayn al-Bayhaqi, commonly known as al-Bayhaqi, was a Persian Sunni Muslim scholar of the Shafi'i school of jurisprudence and hadith. He was born in 994 CE in the village of Bayhaq, near Nishapur, in Khorasan.
