Ajovaloina is a Finnish term that translates to "headlights" in English. It refers to the lights mounted on the front of a vehicle that are used to illuminate the road ahead during periods of low visibility, such as at night or in adverse weather conditions like fog, heavy rain, or snow. Headlights are a critical safety feature, allowing drivers to see obstacles, road signs, and other vehicles, and also making the vehicle visible to other road users.

In Finland, as in most countries, the use of headlights is regulated by law. Drivers are generally required to use their headlights from dusk till dawn and at any other time when visibility is significantly reduced. This can include driving through tunnels or in conditions where natural light is insufficient.
