Adenokarcinóm is a type of cancer that forms in glandular cells. Glandular cells are found throughout the body and produce and secrete substances like mucus, digestive juices, or hormones. Therefore, adenokarcinóm can arise in many organs, including the lungs, colon, prostate, breast, and pancreas. It is the most common type of cancer affecting these organs.

The development of adenokarcinóm typically begins with changes in the DNA of glandular cells, leading them to grow and divide uncontrollably. These abnormal cells can form a mass or tumor. Over time, the tumor can invade surrounding tissues and, in some cases, metastasize, spreading to distant parts of the body through the bloodstream or lymphatic system.
