Zylerspannungen
Zylerspannungen, also known as cylindrical stresses, refer to the stresses that arise within cylindrical or annular components under internal or external pressure. These stresses are particularly relevant in engineering applications such as pressure vessels, pipes, and rotating cylinders. The primary stresses are radial and tangential (or hoop) stresses. Radial stress acts perpendicular to the cylindrical surface, pointing inwards or outwards, while tangential stress acts circumferentially around the cylinder.
The magnitude of these stresses depends on the internal and external pressures applied, the radius of the
For thick-walled cylinders, the stress distribution is more complex, and the radial and tangential stresses vary
