Zsection
Zsection is a structural steel profile with a Z-shaped cross-section, used in construction and mechanical applications. The profile is formed by three flat segments: a central web with two offset flanges, creating a silhouette reminiscent of the letter Z when viewed in cross-section. Z-sections are produced in hot-rolled or cold-formed steel; thickness and overall dimensions vary with standards in different regions. They may be galvanized for corrosion resistance.
Z-sections offer good stiffness in the plane of the web and favorable bending characteristics for loads applied
Compared with I-beams, Z-sections are more compact and economical for certain spans and repetitive framing where
