Zigomatikët

Zigomatikët, also known as the zygomatic muscles, are a pair of muscles located in the face. They originate from the zygomatic bone, commonly referred to as the cheekbone, and insert into the corner of the mouth. The primary function of the zigomatikët is to elevate the angle of the mouth, contributing to expressions of smiling and laughing. They work in conjunction with other facial muscles to produce the complex range of human facial expressions. Anatomically, they are considered part of the superficial muscles of facial expression. Their precise action can be nuanced, and their contribution to a smile is significant, pulling the corners of the lips upwards and outwards.
