Zielpartikel, also known as target particles, are fundamental concepts in physics, particularly in the study of particle interactions and high-energy physics experiments. They represent the particles that are intentionally struck or bombarded by a beam of other particles. The primary goal of such experiments is to observe and analyze the outcomes of these collisions, which can reveal new particles, study fundamental forces, or probe the structure of matter.

In a typical particle accelerator experiment, a beam of accelerated particles, such as protons, electrons, or ions, is directed towards a stationary or a counter-rotating beam.
