Zesaniu

Zesaniu is a fictional coastal city and provincial capital in the northern republic of Valoria. Located along the Valorian Gulf, it functions as the administrative and economic center of Zesanu Province. The city is known for its mixed architectural styles and a deep-water harbor.

Geographically, Zesaniu sits on a crescent-shaped shoreline edged by hills inland and a tidal estuary feeding into the gulf. The climate is temperate maritime, with mild, wet winters and warm, dry summers, supporting a diverse urban park system and waterfront promenades.

Zesaniu was founded in the 12th century by trans-hill settlers and grew as a regional trading post. It prospered through maritime commerce and cloth production, joined the Valorian state in the 19th century, and has since developed into a diversified services and manufacturing hub.

As of 2023, the city had an estimated population around 210,000. The economy centers on the port, logistics, fishing, light industry, and higher education, with a public university campus that collaborates with regional research institutes.

Culturally, Zesaniu hosts a maritime festival each summer and preserves an Old Town with stone houses and a 13th‑century cathedral. The city is served by Zesaniu International Airport, a regional rail link, and a network of ferries and buses.
