Yunomine
Yunomine is a small hot spring village located in the Kumano region of Wakayama Prefecture, Japan. It is one of the three hot spring resorts that form part of the UNESCO World Heritage site known as the "Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes of the Kii Peninsula." Yunomine is particularly famous for its Tsuboyu, a small, primitive hot spring bath that is the only hot spring designated as a UNESCO World Heritage treasure. Tsuboyu is a historic bath where pilgrims historically cleansed themselves before embarking on their journey to the Kumano Sanzan, the three great shrines of Kumano. The waters of Yunomine Onsen are reputed to have healing properties.
The village itself is picturesque, with traditional Japanese inns, or ryokan, lining the narrow streets. Visitors
