Yohimboides

Yohimboides is a genus of plants in the family Rubiaceae. This genus is native to tropical Africa. Species within yohimboides are typically shrubs or small trees. They are characterized by their opposite leaves and their inflorescences, which are often cymose. The flowers are usually small and inconspicuous, with a tubular corolla.

The genus yohimboides is closely related to the more widely known genus Pausinystalia, which contains yohimbe (Pausinystalia yohimbe), a tree famous for its bark which contains the alkaloid yohimbine. While some species of yohimboides may share some chemical constituents with Pausinystalia, their pharmacological properties are not as extensively studied.
