Ylityöjärjestelyillä refers to arrangements concerning overtime work in Finland. These arrangements are governed by Finnish labor law, specifically the Working Time Act (Työaikalaki). The primary purpose of these regulations is to protect employees' health and safety by limiting the amount of overtime that can be worked and ensuring fair compensation.

Overtime is defined as work performed in excess of the normal daily or weekly working hours. There are legal limits on how much overtime an employee can be asked to work, both on a daily and annual basis. Employers must have a valid reason to request overtime, and employees generally cannot be forced to work overtime unless there is a specific agreement in place or a genuine, urgent need.

Compensation for overtime is also regulated. Typically, overtime hours are paid at a higher rate than normal working hours, often with a multiplier of 50% or 100% depending on the specific circumstances and the time of day or week the overtime is worked. Employees also have the right to compensatory time off instead of monetary payment for some overtime.

Agreements regarding overtime can be made at the individual employee level or through collective bargaining agreements. These agreements can sometimes allow for different arrangements than those stipulated in the Working Time Act, but they cannot reduce the minimum protections afforded to employees by law. Employers are responsible for keeping accurate records of all overtime worked.
