Yksittäisantenni

Yksittäisantenni, often translated as "single antenna" or "individual antenna," refers to a basic antenna element used in radio communication systems. Unlike antenna arrays which combine multiple elements to achieve specific directional or gain characteristics, a yksittäisantenni typically consists of a single conductor or element designed to transmit or receive electromagnetic waves.

The design and performance of a yksittäisantenni are dependent on several factors including its physical shape, size, and the frequency of the radio waves it is intended to operate with. Common examples of yksittäisantennit include dipoles, monopoles, and loop antennas. A simple dipole, for instance, consists of two conductive rods or wires of equal length, oriented end-to-end, with the signal fed at the center. A monopole antenna is essentially half of a dipole, often mounted on a ground plane.
