The growth of single crystals is a complex process, often requiring carefully controlled conditions of temperature, pressure, and purity. Various techniques are employed for their production, such as the Czochralski method for growing semiconductor crystals, the Bridgman technique, and flux growth. These methods aim to promote the formation of a single, well-defined crystal lattice as the material solidifies or precipitates from a melt, solution, or vapor. The precise orientation of the crystal lattice is crucial for many applications, and techniques exist to control this during growth.
