Xylopodis

Xylopodis is a genus of fungi in the family Boletaceae. The genus was circumscribed by mycologist Fidel Hernández in 2012. Xylopodis species are saprotrophic, meaning they obtain their nutrients by decomposing organic matter.

Research on Xylopodis suggests a close relationship with species of the genus Cortinarius, also a member of the Boletaceae family. This relationship is further supported by molecular phylogenetic analysis, which indicates that the two genera diverged relatively recently in evolutionary history.
