Xlitningi

Xlitningi is a fictional archipelago and nation in the world-building setting of the Xilari Ocean. It comprises six principal islands and numerous smaller islets, situated to the south of the continent of Nara. The name Xlitningi originates from the local language and roughly translates to wind-woven lands.

Geography and environment: The islands are of volcanic origin with rugged coastlines, lava fields, and extensive coral reefs. The interior ranges from volcanic peaks to mangrove swamps and savanna-like plains. The climate is maritime tropical, with a wet season typically from May through October and a drier season the rest of the year.

History: Human habitation dates back several millennia in coastal settlements. The archipelago engaged in regional trade in the medieval era, came under colonial administration in the 19th century, and achieved full independence in 1956. A constitutional framework was adopted in 1992, establishing a parliamentary republic.

Economy and society: The economy relies on sustainable fisheries, aquaculture, timber from managed forests, and ecotourism centered on marine and forest reserves.
