Xitoy

Xitoy is a sovereign state in East Asia, commonly known in English as China. It is the world's most populous country, with a population approaching 1.4 billion. The capital is Beijing, and Shanghai is its largest city.

Geography: Xitoy covers about 9.6 million square kilometers and features a wide range of environments, from deserts and plateaus to fertile river valleys. Major rivers include the Yangtze and the Yellow River. It borders 14 countries, including India, Russia, and Vietnam.

History: Xitoy has a long imperial history with successive dynasties until the early 20th century. The People's Republic of China was established in 1949. Since the late 1970s, successive economic reforms spurred rapid growth and integration with the global economy.

Government and administration: Xitoy is a unitary, one-party socialist republic led by the Communist Party of China. It is divided into provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities. The president serves as head of state and the premier as head of government; the National People's Congress is the legislature.

Economy and society: It has a large, highly diversified economy with major manufacturing, technology, and service sectors. Mandarin Chinese is the official language. There are numerous ethnic groups and rich regional cultures. Urbanization has increased, while environmental and social challenges remain.

Culture and international role: Xitoy has a long cultural heritage in philosophy, literature, cuisine, and the arts. It plays a major role in global trade and diplomacy as a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council and through initiatives such as the Belt and Road.
