Wärmeträgermedien, often translated as heat transfer media or thermal fluids, are substances used to transport thermal energy from one location to another. They are essential components in various heating, cooling, and industrial processes. The primary function of a Wärmeträgermedium is to absorb heat at a source, move it through a system, and release it at a desired location.

The choice of Wärmeträgermedium depends on several factors, including the operating temperature range, pressure, safety requirements, and cost. Common examples include water, which is widely used in central heating systems due to its availability, low cost, and excellent heat capacity.
