Worldloppet

Worldloppet is the international federation of cross-country ski races. Founded in 1978, it brings together some of the world's most prestigious long-distance ski events, attracting thousands of amateur and professional skiers each year. The goal of Worldloppet is to promote cross-country skiing as a recreational activity and a sport, fostering international friendship and understanding through shared passion for winter sports.

To become a Worldloppet Master, skiers must complete a certain number of Worldloppet races within a specified period. There are different categories of Masters, such as the Gold Master, which requires completing races in at least ten different countries, and the Silver Master, requiring ten races in at least five countries. This system encourages participants to travel and experience different ski cultures and terrains.

The Worldloppet races are held across various countries, primarily in the Northern Hemisphere during the winter season. These events range in length and difficulty, catering to a wide spectrum of skiers. Famous races include the Vasaloppet in Sweden, the Marcialonga in Italy, and the Birkebeinerrennet in Norway. Each race has its own unique history and traditions, contributing to the rich tapestry of the Worldloppet series.
