Woodra

Woodra is a fictional semi-autonomous region in the northern part of the continent of Eldoria. It encompasses forests, hills, and river valleys that drain into the Silverline watershed. The regional capital is Lunenport; other major settlements include Verin and Sylwort. Woodra maintains limited self-government within the larger state framework.

The climate is temperate with four seasons, and annual rainfall ranges roughly between 700 and 1,100 millimeters. The landscape features old-growth forests, peat wetlands, and a network of rivers and lakes. Protected areas, including Woodra National Park, conserve biodiversity and provide opportunities for ecotourism.

Historically, Woodra developed around forestry and small-scale farming. In the modern era it gained autonomous status within the Eldorian federation, adopting a regional charter and elected assembly in the mid-20th century.

Its economy centers on sustainable forestry, timber processing, crafts, and agritourism. Renewable energy, notably hydro and biomass, complements traditional sectors. The region promotes environmental stewardship and local production.

The Woodran language is predominant, with minority speakers of Montari in border towns. Cultural life centers on woodcarving, folk music, and seasonal festivals that celebrate forest heritage. Education follows a regional curriculum aligned with national standards.

Governance combines a Regional Council with a governor appointed by the central government. The council handles local laws and budgets, while national authorities retain reserved powers over defense, foreign relations, and macroeconomic policy.
